  1. 2002-08-27 davidm <davidm@dillweed>
  2. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sh/crt0.S:
  3. Somehow the bit of code that add the offset of envp to argv got lost
  4. and envp was a very small number and not an address. I think this fixes
  5. most of the SH platform.
  6. 2002-08-27 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  7. * /var/cvs/uClibc/docs/uclibc.org/index.html: update for release
  8. * /var/cvs/uClibc/Changelog, /var/cvs/uClibc/Changelog.full:
  9. Update changelog for release
  10. 2002-08-27 Manuel Novoa III <mjn3@dillweed>
  11. * /var/cvs/uClibc/include/stdio.h:
  12. Obligatory forgotten file... sys_errlist garbage.
  13. 2002-08-27 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  14. * /var/cvs/uClibc/test/ldso/.cvsignore, /var/cvs/uClibc/test/ldso/Makefile, /var/cvs/uClibc/test/ldso/dlttest.c, /var/cvs/uClibc/test/ldso/howdy.c:
  15. Semonstrate a problem where weak symbols referenced in shared libs are not
  16. being overridden when those same symbols _are_ overridden by other shared libs
  17. in the main app. Ick.
  18. -Erik
  19. * /var/cvs/uClibc/extra/scripts/gen_bits_syscall_h.sh, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/alpha/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/h8300/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/i960/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/m68k/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/powerpc/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sparc/bits/syscalls.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/syscalls.h:
  20. Make sure that bits/syscalls.h always includes bits/syscall.h
  21. -Erik
  22. 2002-08-27 Manuel Novoa III <mjn3@dillweed>
  23. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/string/Makefile, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/string/wstring.c:
  24. Reimplement sys_errlist[] so that it works on sparc, alpha, and mips.
  25. In my opinion, this is a complete waste of good memory and is only
  26. done to avoid the anticipated whining by people who think this libary
  27. is named uCglibc. At some point this may become a configurable option.
  28. And even then, it may not be available in all configs... for instance
  29. when system error messages become locale-dependent.
  30. * /var/cvs/uClibc/include/dirent.h:
  31. Make this as glibc-like as possible while avoiding the fileutils
  32. problem. glibc hides the DT_* enum values unless __USE_BSD is defined.
  33. 2002-08-27 davidm <davidm@dillweed>
  34. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sh/crt0.S:
  35. Fix a delay slot problem, this gets some apps working on SH, a good number
  36. are still seg-faulting.
  37. 2002-08-27 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  38. * /var/cvs/uClibc/include/dirent.h:
  39. Move the _DIRENT_HAVE_D_TYPE test to avoid breaking fileutils
  40. -Erik
  41. * /var/cvs/uClibc/include/dirent.h:
  42. No need to hide this stuff when _DIRENT_HAVE_D_TYPE is not
  43. defined... Nothing too sacred in there and it can be used
  44. for other things...
  45. -Erik
  46. 2002-08-27 davidm <davidm@dillweed>
  47. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sparc/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sh/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/powerpc/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/mips/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/m68k/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/i386/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/arm/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/alpha/bits/kernel_types.h:
  48. Added __kernel_fsid_t to satisfy some apps that need it.
  49. Definitions taken from 2.4 kernel sources for each of the platforms.
  50. 2002-08-26 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  51. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/misc/dirent/Makefile, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/misc/dirent/readdir64_r.c:
  52. Implement missing readdir64_r.c
  53. -Erik
  54. 2002-08-26 Manuel Novoa III <mjn3@dillweed>
  55. * /var/cvs/uClibc/test/string/string.c, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/string/Makefile, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/string/wstring.c, /var/cvs/uClibc/include/stdio.h:
  56. sparc, alpha, and mips have different errno values than the other
  57. supported platforms. Adjust _susv3_strerror_r function to deal with
  58. this. Also fix an error in strerror() wrt invalid errnos.
  59. NOTE: sys_errlist and sys_nerr are no longer supported!!!
  60. 2002-08-26 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  61. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/kernel_types.h:
  62. Oops. I got the include guard wrong. Fix it per current
  63. value in include/asm-v850/posix_types.h on cvs.uclinux.org
  64. -Erik
  65. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/alpha/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/arm/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/common/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/i386/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/m68k/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/mips/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/powerpc/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sh/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sparc/bits/kernel_types.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/kernel_types.h:
  66. Make bits/kernel_types.h include guard names match the include
  67. guard names used by the kernel's asm/posix_types.h to eliminate
  68. gratuitous conflicts and let our file win over the very-likely-
  69. to-be-broken kernel header file.
  70. -Erik
  71. 2002-08-26 miles <miles@dillweed>
  72. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/v850/bits/kernel_types.h:
  73. Initial checkin.
  74. 2002-08-25 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  75. * /var/cvs/uClibc/Rules.mak:
  76. Update version to 0.9.15 in preparation for making a release
  77. -Erik
  78. 2002-08-25 Manuel Novoa III <mjn3@dillweed>
  79. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/stdio/stdio.c:
  80. Changed fclose behavior when custom streams were enabled. Previously,
  81. the cookie pointer was set to NULL as a debugging aid. However,
  82. some of the perl 5.8 test rely on being able to close stderr and
  83. still try writing to it. So now, the cookie pointer and handler
  84. function pointers are set to that it is a "normal" file with a
  85. file descriptor of -1.
  86. Note: The cookie pointer is reset to NULL if the FILE struct is
  87. free'd by fclose.
  88. 2002-08-25 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>

  90. Kill the HAS_LONG_LONG option. It really did not make a lot of
  91. sense to exclude it, gcc always supports long long, and we never
  92. fully excluded long long anyways (off64_t for example).
  93. -Erik
  94. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/common/bits/msq.h:
  95. Use the kernel version of struct msqid_ds directly, since we don't
  96. do any of that silly translating...
  97. -Erik
  98. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/alpha/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sparc/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/sh/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/powerpc/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/mips/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/m68k/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/common/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/arm/bits/kernel_stat.h:

  107. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/i386/bits/kernel_stat.h, /var/cvs/uClibc/libc/sysdeps/linux/common/bits/stat.h:
  108. Tweak things so that struct stat and struct stat64 (seem to) work on
  109. i386. This is for Erik to look at wrt the other archs.
  110. 2002-08-24 Erik Andersen <andersen@dillweed>
  111. * /var/cvs/uClibc/test/misc/Makefile, /var/cvs/uClibc/test/misc/sem.c:

  115. -Erik

  121. Break dependancy of bits/types.h on the asm/posix_types.h kernel
  122. header, which is not directly usable for many architectures.

  155. -Erik
  156. * /var/cvs/uClibc/libpthread/linuxthreads/wrapsyscall.c:

  166. * /var/cvs/uClibc/include/dirent.h:
  167. Unlike glibc, uClibc doesn't always support the d_type field of
  168. struct dirent. So, disable the d_type support macros when d_type

  248. Disable macro implementations. Somehow I missed the following from the

  250. A library macro that masks a function declaration expands to an
  251. expression that evaluates each of its arguments once (and only once).
  252. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  253. Arguments that have side effects evaluate the same way whether the
  254. expression executes the macro expansion or calls the function. Macros
  255. for the functions getc and putc are explicit exceptions to this rule.
  256. Their stream arguments can be evaluated more than once. Avoid argument
  257. expressions that have side effects with these macros.
